Topic for my Converged Technology and Education Paper
Some of the topics I’ve been thinking about are the use of the Wikipedia search engine. Many arguments have been brought up in college classrooms about the use of Wikipedia in academic research and for personal information. Through my research I’ll show the opposing viewpoints from both people who agree that Wikipedia can benefit knowledge and who bash its use because of plagiarism and credibility. I’ll link it to the use of Wikipedia in newspaper articles and news related publications.
Most people use the search engine Wikipedia, but little confess. How can a Web site fairly new spark so much controversy in the academic world? Can people rely on Wikipedia or it does not serve the purpose of spreading the knowledge to everyone connected to the Internet?
